Enter Millie, Bowles’ beagle. From the moment they met, Millie took on the role of big sister. She seemed to understand Bonnie’s past, and she was patient with her. But Millie made sure she never felt left out. “Millie would slow down so Bonnie could catch up or knock toys off the couch so Bonnie could reach them,” Bowles recalled. Today, Bonnie and Millie are inseparable. They run together, explore together, and snuggle together at night. Bonnie, once abandoned and forgotten, is now full of life. “She’s a different dog now,” Bowles said. “She loves to run and play. She’s so energetic. But she’s also a total snuggle bug. She loves being with people.”
