In a quiet neighborhood in Cuautitlán, Mexico, a group of animal-loving neighbors came across a small, scruffy dog curled up on a patch of grass. One woman, Beatriz Ordaz, couldn’t walk away. She made a life-changing decision and took the sick pup home. She named her Catalina the Great—a name as strong as the will to survive shining in the dog’s weary eyes.
From that moment, Catalina was no longer alone. Ordaz and her son took turns giving her nebulization treatments, making sure she could breathe more easily. Slowly, Catalina’s fragile body began to heal, and for the first time in a long while, she felt safe.
